Product Introduction
Oxiracetam (4-Hydroxy-2-oxopyrrolidine-N-acetamide) is a nootropic drug of the racetam family and very mild stimulant. Oxiracetam has been cited in the medicine field as having benefits such as, increasing cognitive function and processing. As a racetam and ampakine, Oxiracetam (4-Hydroxy-2-oxopyrrolidine-N-acetamide) has a similar method to other racetams in the family which is considered to be slightly higher in potency than Piracetam.
Uses / Benefits / Effects
There are lots of studies show the proven effects of the Oxiracetam has beneficial effects that lead to higher scores in tests for logical performance, attention, concentration, memory and spatial orientation. These tests were performed on patients with mild to moderate dementia and ADHD, and the doses were 800–2400 mg orally twice a day for one to six months. Improvement by using Oxiracetam has also been seen in patients with exogenic post-concussion syndrome, organic brain syndromes and other dementias. According to V. Gallai et al, oxiracetam is more effective than piracetam for this purpose.
Research shows oxiracetam also improves hippocampally-mediated learning performance by increasing membrane-bound protein kinase C (PKC). When compared to control mice, oxiracetam-treated DBA mice demonstrated a significant increase in spatial learning performance as determined by the Morris task. This increase in performance was correlated to an increase in membrane-bound PKC. (1)
Summary of Oxiractam benefits:
Increase in Memory
Enhanced Learning Ability
Better Sensory Perception
Advance Technical Thinking
Improved Focus
Dosage
The standard recommended dose is 750mg taken twice daily; each of our capsules contains 750mg of oxiracetam powder. If supplementing for study purposes, it is best taken 1 or 2 hours prior to a learning experience [3]. Because it is water soluble, Oxiracetam is best taken with water on an empty stomach.
Oxiracetam has been shown to have an 8 hour half life, and as such, individuals with sensitivity to stimulants should take this into consideration when dosing
Side Effects
Like most of the other racetams, Oxiracetam has been considered fairly safe to use. It is non-toxic and its low potency reduces the risk of overdose. No overdose reports causing death or severe side-effects have been reported. Commonly, overdose symptoms will relate to headaches or fatigue and will often result in opposite nootropic effects. Oxiracetam is well tolerated in most individuals. Some individuals may be sensitive to the substance and it is recommended to use a lower dose for the first time to observe the level of sensitivity.
The common side effects:
Headache
Nausea
Dizziness
Insomnia
Irritability
Gastrointestinal Distress
Oxiracetam may have interactions with Carbamazepine. Carbamazepine is a common anti-convulsant and mood-stabilizing drug popular in treatment of bi-bipolar and depressive disorders. Carbamazepine has many drug interactions and is known under many trade names. The interaction of Carbamazepine with Oxiracetam does not appear to be life threatening. Only minor side effects seem to result from the interaction and Oxiracetam`s half-life and effects are commonly counter-acted.
