Introduction
Nicotinamide mononucleotide, also known is NMN,is an innovative version of vitamin B3 that is a 1 step precursor to NAD+(NicotinamideAdenine Dinucleotide). NMN recently has been a popular topic studied by scientists because it could be potientially developed as anti-aging ingredient for pharmaceatical drugs from a nutraceutical.
How nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) works?
In a study publised in the journel Cell, nicotinamide mononucleotide(NMN) has been studied by researchers for its benefits and effects on mice. Results show that nicotinamide mononucleotide(NMN) essentially reactivated faltering blood flow in aging mich as it deprives tissues and organs including the brain, of the essential nutrients and oxygen. the mices given nicotinamide mononucleotide(NMN) increased their treadmill run time by 60% compared to animals that didn’t get the molecule, and they doubled their exercise endurance — to levels that matched or even exceeded that of younger mice.
So nicotinamide mononucleotide(NMN) has shown very good anti-aging effects and benefits on mice, will it work in human body?
To find out answer for this question, The first human clinical study (Phase 1) for nicotinamide mononucleotide NMN has started in Japan in 2016. Professor Hiroshi Itoh and his team in Keio are leading the study, and Professor Shin-ichiro Imai is also involved. It is a international collaborative team between Keio University Keio University School of Medicine in Tokyo and Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis.
In 2018, another study of NMN has been published by Cell showing that "Treatment of mice with NAD precursor - nicotinamide mononucleotide improves vascular and increases endurance in aging mice" which gives NMN more support on NMN's anti-aging benefits.
nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) resources and safety
Nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) can be naturally found in milk, beef, brocolli, tomato, cabbages, but the contents of it is very low. Nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) is also naturally occurring in the body that plays a vital role in how cells use energy. It is involved in the synthesis of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD), a coenzyme in cells that is essential for converting energy from nutrients into a form cells can use.
Currently Nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) is also available on the market as a nutritional heathy supplements, however the human clinical study of it is only up to Phase 2, so the safty of it still not fully studied. As currenlty Nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) has not been approved by FDA, so NMN should not been used to treat, cure or prevent any disease
nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) production and supply
nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) production require high technologies. Currently only a few manufactuers and lab are able to supply it in small quantity in Kilos. The cost of it still remain at high level. Natural Micron Lab are one of it able to provide full testing results in cluding HPLC, HNMR and COA. Please feel free to contact us if you have any inquiry.
